Internet Marketing Tools – Free FireFox Add-ons

FireFox Add-ons

FireFox Add-ons for Internet Marketers

I was going to write about one of the  free Firefox addons called SEOQuake.   Then I realized the Andrew Murray had done a short video where he goes over a number of useful Firefox addons.  SEOQuake is one of those tools.   I thought that you would be better served by listing the ones that he recommends with a few comments from my personal experience.

Recommended Tools – FireFox Addons

  1. LastPass – this is a secure repository for your passwords.  It will fill in your user name and password when you arrive at a site and there is a User Name and Password field visible.  The other tool that some people use is Robo-Form.  Andrew and I both prefer LastPass.
  2. XMarks – this is a tool that synchronizes your book marks across different machines.  If you use your bookmarks a lot, it is nice to have the same set on your laptop and your office machine.
  3. Video Download Helper – this tool allows you to speed up downloaded videos when you watch them.  The free video player VLC will also do this.  I really like the paid tool called enounce.  When you are watching YouTube of Amazon S3 videos you can speed them up to three times their normal spped.  These are tremendous time savers.
  4. rapportive is an addon for GMail.  It allows you to collect notes on your contacts.  I haven’t tried this one.
  5. Evernotes WEb Clipper – this tool allows you to clip part of a screen and drop it straight into Evernotes.  A must have for Evernotes users.
  6. FoxySEO – will tell you problems with a web page – I have not tried this one or SEO Doctor
  7. SEO Doctor is similar
  8. SEO  Blogger analyzes your blog post and makes recommendations.
  9. SEOQuake. – When you  Google for a Keyword, SEOQuake will insert a line after each site found by Google and give you some information about how authroitative the site is.  In other words how many backlinks you need to be in the same league.

The only one I would add to his list is DropBox.   This isn’t actually a FireFox addon, but it is certainly useful.  This is 2 Gig of free web storage that you can share amoung your various machines.  It makes the web storage look like a folder on your hard drive.   I also talked recently about the SEO plugin called WordPress SEO by Yoast.

Here is Andrew Murrey‘s Video:    http://www.andrewmurrayhq.com/coolest-firefox-addons-for-internet-marketers/

I user FireFox and I use FireFox Addons.  These may help you.

Until next time, you have a Great Day!

  1. Thanks for putting together this list. On any of these, does it matter whether you have mac or pc?

    • Anne,
I believe these all work on anything that runs FireFox. If there you find one that doesn’t FireFox will tell you. As a matter of fact when you upgrade FireFox, it checks and sometimes will drop an addon until the authors update it.

      Regards,
      Dr. Hale

  2. Great list for FireFox. I’ll pass it on to my techie! 🙂

    • Denys,

I plan to pass the list to my tech…. wait a minute, I am my tech guy. Oh well, gotta get one of those 🙂

  3. I’ve been using Firefox for awhile and never looked into the add ons. Looks like I have been missing some valuable tools. Thank you for providing this information for those of us who haven’t paid attention.

    • Linda,

I seem to learn something “important that I had missed” every time that I sit down and research. Makes me curious about what else “I should know and don’t”

      Thanks for the comment,
      Dr. Hale

  4. Very helpful list! My IT guy just installed Dropbox for me and I can tell that it’ll be very helpful!

    • Amy,

I agree that Dropbox is one of the better tools today. Very clean and very easy. The only thing I haven’t figured out is why some files don’t show on my iPad, but that’s another story 🙂

      Thanks for commenting,

  5. I have always used IE and recently have started using Chrome on occasion. I find that every once in a while, one works better on a certain website than the other. I used Firefox for a while a few years ago, but had problems trying to print from it. Maybe I’ll give it another try. Always enjoy your posts, Dr. Hale.

    • Thanks Lorraine,

I was very surprised with Google Analytics told me that slightly more people view my blog using Chrome and FireFox. IE has dropped WAY down (thank goodness).

      Thanks for commenting,

  6. It is entirely up to you, but keep in mind that links
can be very long and comments may not always be appropriate.
When your blog is ready for the plugin, use the Install Now button to
    begin the process.

  7. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems
as though you relied on the video to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting
videos to your site when you could be giving us something enlightening
    to read?
