Driving Blog Traffic – A Journey Begins
Blog Traffic is a critical part of blogging. In an earlier post, “Sail the 7 Cs of Blogging”, I gave an overview of seven different aspects of blogging.
In a In a series of seven posts (it started as four and kinda grew :), I am focusing on the last one – driving blog traffic.
Creating blog traffic has four distinct phases –
- things you do before you start posting in your blog – covered in a post about Phase 1,
- things you do while you are writing a post (SEO and HOC) – covered in a post about Phase 2,
- things you do after you write a post and press Publish Blog Traffic After Publish 1 and What the Experts Do to Drive Blog Traffic
Now we are going to start a journey together. I’m going to start to carry out some of the tactics and techniques used by the experts and document how that impacts traffic to my blog.
Caveat – there are lots of opinions and lots of research on this topic. I’m giving you the best that I know. Parts of it will probably be out of date before it is even published.

Why I am focusing on Driving Blog Traffic
It has been my observation that many bloggers feel that if they write good content, people will find them using Google, Bing, and Yahoo. They are right. Some will. Occasionally a lot will. The experts tell us that they do NOT depend on this model.
This is How We Would Like Traffic to Work
We have our niche, our USP, a perfect Avatar of our starving crowd. They should be crowding around our ankles howling for more!
What the Experts tell us Driving Blog Traffic is really like
You have to go out and “encourage” them to come visit AND to sign up for your list.
My Traffic on November 28 – Pretty Abysmal
At this point, I’m just writing the posts. I mention them in a couple of Facebook groups and that is about it. That is ABOUT TO CHANGE!
So we begin our journey together – Driving Blog Traffic
Until next time, you have a Great Day
