One Hour Launch – Website Setup
Install a new ProductPages Domain with WordPress NOTE: To start with most of us can use my hosting account. It will need some work when you decide to move out on your own and it might be worth the $7/month to start with your own hosting. Your choice. NOTE: You can ignore everything down to Start with Your Hosting Company CPanel
- Scroll down the left column find and copy the Name Servers. Paste them somewhere that you can find them later
Go to GoDaddy.com
- Buy the Domain – I use GoDaddy
- Make sure you have the Name Server URLs from your Hosting Company (I use HostGator)
- Edit the Domain Settings and find Name Servers – replace the existing Name Servers with Custom Name Servers – the ones from your Hosting Company
Move back to Hosting Company CPanel Login - Search for Domain (upper left) and Find the Domains section
- Click on Add Domain
- Enter the URL for your new website (Domain purchased from GoDaddy)
- Tab down to the password and enter a new password two times
- Press Submit
- Wait for it to say you are okay (I have to be in Chrome for the next section – HostGator wants me to do something with cookies)
- Click on the Upper Left Home and go back to CPanel
- Search for “Software” (bar in upper left) – It will take you to Software Services
- Click on WordPress on the left (4th from the top)
- Ignore all the Mojo stuff!!!
- Go Back to the CPanel and search for “email” in the upper left
- Click on Add Email
- Add Sales@<YourNewDomain> – save the password
- Scroll down and find the email in the list at the bottom of the page
- Click on the MORE over at the extreme right
- Click on Web Address
- Copy/Paste the URL of your WebMail somewhere you can find it.
- Go to your Gmail Account

How to Set Up Google Mail Fetcher
To set up Google Mail Fetcher for an email account:
- Log into your Gmail account.
- Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page and select Settings.
- Click the Accounts tab and locate the Check mail from other accounts (using POP3) section.
- Click Add a POP3 mail account you own.
- Enter the full email address of the account from which you’d like mail fetched.
- Click Next Step.
- In the Password field, enter the password for the email address you provided.
- The account I wanted was Sales@gadgetsr.us. The bottom two entries were Sales and mail.gadgetsr.us port 110 The last entry was Okay, but I had to change the Sales to Sales@gadgetsr.us. Then it worked
- Select Port 110 for a POP3 connection. For a secure email connection, use Port 995.
- Click the checkboxes next to the options that best suit your needs:
- Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server
- Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail *
- Label incoming messages
- Archive incoming messages
*Note: Google does not allow the use of self-signed SSL certificates, including HostGator’s shared SSL certificates. - Click
Add Account.
After successfully adding your account, you’ll also have the option of making the added account a custom From address. This will allow you to compose messages in Gmail but have them appear to be sent from your other email account.
- Now mail to SALES@<yourNewDomain> will come to your normal email
- Loging to the Webmail and use HORDE to send email from the account.
- Use Sales@<YourNewDomain> for the Contact Us email later
- Fill out this formThe URL is a Drop-Down The rest you just fill in (Do NOT put Admin as the Admin User)
- Ignore the Buy a Theme – click on No Thanks I’m a Web Designer
- This is what you expect to see:#1 – This line says this went okay #2 – Click the down arrow #3 – Copy and Store this info
- Try is out
- Login and Click on Users
- Edit your user
- Click on the Generate Password button
- Replace what it says with something you like
- Click the blue Update Profile button at the bottom of the page
Modify and Install PlugIns - Add New – Search for this (Box is hard to see – upper right) Pretty Link Lite
- Activate
- I like to activate Jetpack you need a free Account with WordPress.com
- Click on the button at the top of the Plugins Page
- Login with your WordPress.com name/email
- Deactivate HostGator WalkMe and Mojo MarketPlace
- Activate Aksimet Anti-Span software (For Hale:Go to Evernote and copy my Aksimet key(
- Click on Activate by Akismet and enter the key when it asks
Install the ProductPages Theme - Click on Appearance à Themes
- Click on Add New
- Click on Upload
- Browse to find the zip file
- Click Install Now
- You Should see this:
- Click Activate
- You will probably need to click the Update button to get the latest Version
- Get License Key (For Hale this is in EverNote – ProductPages.co)
- Go back to your site and click on the Please CLICK HERE to authenticate your Site
- Enter the License Key and Press Validate
- This is a small Click Here link in the middle of the pop-up window. It takes you to One Click Install IMPORTANT – ONE CLICK INSTALL IF YOU AREN’T HERE ALREADY
- Click on the Menu option: Product Pages à Quick Install (1 click) to install home pages, sample Product pages, than You Pages and much more
REMOVE MENU FROM TOP OF SCREEN - Under Appearance à Menus
- Create a new Menu
- Name it My Menu (or anything) –. Leave it empty
- Click Save Menu on the right – for sure
- Click the Manage Locations and select your new empty menu as Default Navigation
- Click the Save Changes Button
INSTALL HTML CODE TO SHOW TERMS OF SERVICE etc. AT BOTTOM OF EACH PAGE - Go to Appearance –> Editor and Edit the Footer.php file
- Right above the </body> line at the bottom of the file paste Material in this file Click Here
- Add Privacy-Policy Page and paste Generic Page
- Add Return-Policy Page and paste Generic Page
- Add terms-and-conditions Page and paste Generic Page
- Add Contact-Us Page (Activate from Jetpack)
INFORMATION UNIQUE TO One Hour Launch Member who will use the Domain NEEDED - Edit your WordPress Website
- Pages –> All Pages – Edit Privacy-Policy Page and make it conform to your company (replace ALL CAPS)
- Pages –> All Pages -Edit Return-Policy Page and make it conform to your company
- Pages –> All Pages -Edit terms-and-conditions page and make it conform to your company
- JetPack –> Edit Contact Us (In JetPack) and make it conform to your company
UPDATE HOME PAGE – GET RID OF T-SHIRTS - Edit the HOME Page after you have two of three products installed on the site.
- The Green Page Options are Different. This is a CATALOG header (on the right side of the page you will see that the Page Template called “Catalog.”)
- Tell ir to only show 3 in the slider and replace the first 3 items with your information.
HIDE SOME PAGES - Go To Pages in the Left Menu and use Quick Edit on each page you don’t want showing anywhere and mark them PRIVATE
- NOTE The Jetpack Menu option at the top will give you some data on page views.
LOGO - Click on the Menu option: Product Pages – Dashboard –> Theme Customize – Upload Logo or Edit the Logo Text. You can also find a Favicon (little image in the browser header) at http://findicons.com/
AWEBER - Edit one of the Ad Pages .
- Under LEADS – Click to get your API Authentication Code from AWeber – copy it
- Paste the API code and authenticate
- Click the Green Save Button
- NOTE: See my AWeber Documentation for Product Pages for setting up AWeber to deal with a new niche.
PAYPAL - Click on the ProductPages –> Shopping Cart Menu Option
- Make sure the email is set to your Business PayPal Account
- Save All Settings
FACEBOOK CUSTOM AUDIENCE PIXEL (See the two blog posts on Custom Audiences mentioned at the beginning of the OHL documentation) - Open Facebook Ads Manager
- Click on Tools –> Audiences
- On the left Click on Create Audience –> Choose Custom Audience
- Choose the middle one – Website Traffic
- Choose “Anyone Who Visits Your Website”
- Change the 30 days to 180
- Give the pixel a name that tells you which website it is tracking
- Click the blue Create button
- You are back to the list. Click the little invisible check box to the left of your new audience
- That activate the ACTIONS tab – Click it
- Click on View Pixel
- We need to copy the long JavaScript code

- Open you website
- Click on ProductPages –> Dashboard
- Paste the JavaScript in the Tracking Code box (ignore the fact that it says this is for Google Analytics)
- Find the line that says and put the fbq(‘track’,’ViewContent’); code right before it (make sure you include the ; at the end)
- Click the Save All Changes
- View your site in Chrome (with the Facebook Pixel Helper installed) you should see one pixel found now
CREATE PRIVACY PAGES ETC - Install pages and code to display the pages
CREATE AN AUDIENCE OF EVERYONE WHO VISITS THIS NEW WEBSITE - Open your Facebook Ads Manager and Click on Tools à Audiences
- Click on Create audience
- Click on Custom Audience
- Change the “Anyone who visits…” to “Anyone who visits selected pages”
- Paste the URL for your new website in the box (erase the http://)
- Change the 30 to 180
- Name the Audience something like: “Everyone who visits xxxx.com”
- Save
- Test things out
- For example after I created my first Display Page, I viewed the list of page and hit duplicate under my Display Page It created a DRAFT copy
- I Edited the Draft and added TEST to the end and marked it as Private (over on the right side)
- I set the price to $1 and the shipping to 0.
- I viewed this page and I purchased my item for $1 using a second PayPal account
