Need to Create a Chart – ScreenPresso is a Free and Easy Tool

Create a Chart with ScreenPressoEvery now and then i create a chart for one of my blogs.  Over the years I have used the professional tools like Visio, but recently I have wished that I had a tool I could recommend that was less expensive and easy to use.  Well surprise – I had the tool I needed to create a chart already in my toolbox.  The tools I’m now using when I need to create a chart is ScreenPresso.  Although it is primarily a screen capture and edit tool it does a very nice job of creating charts – if you know what to do…

ScreenPresso – A Free Screen Capture Program With An Editor

I’ve talked about ScreenPresso before, but I’ll recap what I like.

  • Press the PrintScreen Button and it gives you the crosshairs to select the part of the screen you want
  • It does not close windows menus when it is triggered.  The menus are part of your image.
  • It automatically saves the clips to its own storage area
  • It comes with an editor and the editor has the features I need:
    • Arrows
    • Number the arrows
    • Blur an area
    • Text Boxes
    • Just plain boxes
    • all features can be changed (color, size, type)
  • When you edit the saved image a second time all the things you added to the image are still movable, deletable, and changeable.

That last option is what makes ScreenPresso a very powerful tools for creating simple flow charts and diagrams.  If you make a mistake or want to modify something, you don’t have to start from scratch.

How To Create a Chart with ScreenPresso

With the ability to create boxes, arrows between boxes, triangles, lines, text, fancy text, label sections with numbers and more, ScreenPresso gives you the tools you need to easily create simple charts.   What is especially nice is that you can edit the file later and all the elements are still editable.

Here is one example of what you can do.  I added to this flow chart at least 15 times and I built it up and up.

[…] The image at the top of the screen shows you some of the features.   Here is a chart I drew with ScreenPresso.  Is this great?  NO!  Did it get the job done quickly – YES!  (I will note that the ability to call the image up again and again and move, delete, and resize existing elements made this task MUCH easier.    (You can see the blog post where I talked about this flow here (WordPress, AWeber, and PayPal Move You Thru a Sales Funnel)  I talked more about using ScreenPresso to build a chart here.
