Taking Action is THE Key to success!  I was helping a friend today and decided to look for a quote or two about “Taking Action” instead of just “Learning about Action.”  I found enough that it motivated me to write.  🙂

I found a couple quotes that I really like.  For example:

• What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.  – Goethe
• Vision without action is daydream. Action without vision is nightmare.  – Japanese Proverb
• Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes but don’t quit. – Conrad Hilton
• and the one in the image “Act of Accept.” – Anonymous

What motivated this post was a web post I ran across.  It is two years old, but deserves to be read again – and again…

The author is Ryan Lee (whom I don’t know), but he nails a concept I believe in passionately.

“You learn as much by DOING as you do by STUDYING!   Start DOING as soon as you can!”

It took me a LONG time to get off the dime and out of almost all “learning” mode and into mostly “taking action” mode.  I think it was Jason Fladlein who finally said something that sunk in  (you know the old saw about hearing something seven times in seven different ways from seven different people before it sinks in!). I am a compulsive learner and moving into taking action mode was always something I would do as soon as I stopped learning new stuff.   I finally realized that in the field of Internet Marketing, you will NEVER finish learning new stuff.  It just keeps coming and coming.  Twenty years ago, in the IT field I could study something and it would “circle around on itself.”   That phrase means that after a while every new source would be teaching the same material I already know.  There would be golden nuggets for sure, but the basic information would be something I had learned somewhere else.  Today, the flow of new or changing information is so fast that you have to learn the basics and then jump in with both feet or you will never start.

When it comes to building your list, figure out something you can do today that will get more people to subscribe to your list:

• Write a blog post (make sure you have a pop-up or a footnote slider or “subscribe when you comment” and a sidebar ad where people can subscribe to your list)
• Join a JV Giveaway (Read more here)
• Book a Solo Ad (more coming on this)
• Start a PPC campaign
• Put a video on YouTube (with links to sign options)

So I’ve ranted about Taking Action enough.  I’ll stop with this thought.  Part of “I’ve got to learn more before I can start!” come from not believing that we are “ready to start” or “good enough to start” or “know enough to start.”  I’ll leave you with Normal Vincent Peale.
